2016 I was invited to excessive fashion show held at the Hilton Woburn MA, put together by Joe Malaika. My best friend and I attended, I recall looking over at her and making a promise that next year -November 18, 2017 I WILL be walking in the show... 365 days later - YOU GUESSED IT!

Excessive fashion along with being held to raise funds for the Jimmy Fund; a fund set up to help in cancer research - had a star studded guest list, with the likes of Yemi Sekoni, Sinnirith Vann, AC Takeuch and Steve Campbell to mention but a few. Hosting the show was Boston’s very own fashion king Gustavo Leon, joining him was Miss Massachusetts 2016, Iva Nicole, both looking stunning and keeping the crowd excited. Devin Ferreira kicked the show off with his impromptu rap and let’s say if that never won you over then being serenaded by saxophone would have you feeling all kinds of ways! Samantha Johnson took to the stage with her beautiful voice and left everyone wanting more.

Now along with designs that are world class, you need world class hair and makeup stylists! Salon Eva Michelle showed why they’re one of the best! Stylists were both professional and friendly, cracking a joke every so often (we needed it as we drew closer to show time [special shout out to Garth for making me pretty💞]). Throughout the show the team would circulate and do regular touch ups.

The beauty of these shows are that you get to see different models, varying in sizes, ethnicity and experience. All coming together to help bring to life the designs as well as Joe’s vision. Backstage there’s definitely lots of fun mixed with different personalities as well as nerves! (No matter how many shows you walk, as soon as the show starts so do the butterflies!!).

This year we had seven designers of which I had the opportunity to walk for. First off we had Inga Puzikov with her timeless “Jewelinga Designs” jewelry! (@jewelingaofficial). Definitely recommend getting your significant other, your mother or yourself some of her pieces! You are able to see the finest details in her work if we need more convincing (which believe me you won’t), Inga and her beautiful smile and charismatic personality will sell it all!

The twin brothers behind “Early Bird” collection

(@earlybirdscollections) were the picture of style and edge. Their leather jackets and fur coats had both the men and woman sitting on the edge of their seats!

Our next designer was the soft spoken Dana Jade Hernandez and her “Dana Jade” collection (@danajadedesigns). Her designs are chic with a timeless elegance. Her designs had you feeling sexy and classy all in one design!

Imperfectly perfected (@imperfectly_perfected_designs) were the embodiment of fun, elegance and fierceness. Each design more fierce than the next! (I felt like a kid in a candy store  wanting to wear every design [if only I could!!]). The piece I wore was a burgundy skirt with a blazer over a golden corset, hitting the runway channeling my inner Wonder Woman!

The Zara store featured their collection as well!

The next designer brought to the runway her beautiful designs, which had me feeling all kinds of beautiful.

Finale was the one and only Joe Malaika, whos designs are a mix of formal business and sexy. Attention to detail and down right outstanding.

Each designers work, ideas and passion was displayed beautifully by each of the models.

Excessive fashion is an event not to be missed, who would not want to give to the Jimmy Fund while rubbing shoulders with The Who’s who of fashion as you watch models who were hand selected being designers work come to life all to the sound of Boston’s local musical talent.
