IMPERFECTLY PERFECTED

For many fashion is nothing more than the latest trend. For some it is a statement, then for others it is a direct reflection of themselves... a reflection of their heart.

One of those people is Tonya Nichols. When she enters a room you feel her presence, a strong queen who damn well knows her worth! Then she speaks and you have no choice but to fall in love with her. Tonya is a strong, bold and beautiful woman with the most amazing heart - who she is is beautiful portrayed by her work! To Tonya this is not just putting material together, this is something far more meaningful.

September 2015 saw the birth of “Imperfectly Perfected”. While with no formal experience or training Tonya released her first collection, which was made entirely by hand! (Now that alone emphasizes that is more than just fashion.) 

Imperfectly perfected was inspired by Tonyas late mom, who too loved fashion. Having the opportunity to witness her mother’s love and passion for fashion whether that was on the runway or in her unique dress style everyday, this is where Tonya found her inspiration. We all need that push in the right direction and thanks to her very own children Tonya launched her line. 

Every piece in the Imperfectly perfected collection is inspired by Tonyas mom. “She was beautiful, strong, unique and confident... flaws and all. She was Imperfectly perfected.” After hearing this, this is all made sense - Tonya was describing her mother yet to me she was describing herself and this is what her line makes so many beautiful woman feel like. Each piece speaks this statement, it is bold, beautiful, unique and breathtaking. 

All this is done to fulfill her mother’s dream, to allow the world to see her line and for those who wear it to step into their imperfect perfections.  Tonyas advise to those who are coming into the industry is to never be afraid to fail! Failure brings character, believe in yourself and others will have no choice but to do the same! 

Imperfectly perfected is the embodiment of when passion meets art. Each garment makes you feel bold and beautiful, each garment was made with this in mind and you definitely feel it and OWN it!
